Give Kids a Smile (GKAS)

We show our active support and participation in the community that WLADS serves through our involvement with GKAS programs in our area.

The South Bay Children’s Health Center (SBCHC) Dental Clinic was established in 1947 in South Redondo Beach, to meet the need for dental care of the underinsured children from low and moderate income South Bay families. The center opened their new clinic in Lawndale on September 15, 2010. The clinic currently operates two days a week--building healthy smiles--which serves to reduce absenteeism in school. The center conducts school based dental diagnostic screenings for an average of 11,000 children per school year and offers dental care at a reduced cost for over 1,500 treatment appointments annually.
